January 16, 2026: The meeting began with technical discussions about the plan for determining what in the ground produces what types of radaar wave reflections. Multiple presentations followed about the Baudes, France dataset, Team members shared their analysis of GPR data from this Roman villa site with a church on top of it. Included were discussions of frequency filtering, stratigraphy, and various architectural features. The group then explored radar reflection patterns, migration techniques, and wave behavior in radar data, with Larry providing explanations about reflection principles to be applied this week for a project on the Greek island of Chios.

January 13, 2026: Short video on the Larry frequency filtering program

January 10, 2026: The group discussed their recent analysis of archaeological data using amplitude maps and reflection profiles. They reviewed their findings on Poverty Point and prepared for next week’s project in southern France, which involves analyzing a plowed field containing Roman and medieval church remains. Larry introduced the concept of frequency filtering to improve data resolution and asked participants to experiment with different filtering techniques for next week. The group was tasked with creating slice maps without filtering, relating features to profiles, and reprocessing data after frequency filtering. They were encouraged to use their own software first, with Larry offering support for those who wish to use his software. The project aims to map the Roman villa and medieval church, with questions about their chronology and relationship to each other. Participants were invited to join small groups and connect with Muhammad and Larry for further assistance in forming groupss, or during group meetings this week.
